Welcome to the Suscom website. This website covers and supports the work of

Community Environment Associates (CEA), a consultancy specialising in policy and practice work on environmental and sustainable development issues at the local level;

Chris Church, Co-Director of CEA

Chris Church is a highly-experienced trainer and facilitator. He delivers training through CEA (see CEA Training & Facilitation) but is also a trainer for:

  • Talk Action (on Facilitation, Communication & Climate Change, and Working with Communities)

  • COIN – the Climate Outreach information Network (on various aspects of Climate Change)

Chris is also a Director of the new ‘Mapping for Change’ social enterprise, which offers a range of mapping and GIS services to public and third sector bodies.

    • The Sustainability Challenge: implications for chief executives in the third sector

      This is a new publication from the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO), launched in April 2009. Chris Church co-wrote this with Steve Evison, Director of another consultancy, Resources for Change, with whom CEA are doing several pieces of work. You can download this from here

    • Sustainable Living, Sustainable Homes: Transforming housing systems to tackle climate change and promote sustainability
    • A presentation on current issues around housing and sustainability, delivered to the conference of the European civil Society Platform on Sustainable Consumption and Production in Wuppertal, Germany, March 2009. You can download it here
